Smitten Polish ~ Penny Dreadful

Smitten Polish ~ Penny Dreadful
Coppery jelly with holo microglitter

I’m moving a bit out of my comfort zone today – I’m not usually into golden or coppery polishes. But you know, once in a while it’s great to try something new. So I bought Penny Dreadful, knowing that a Smitten polish is never bad quality.

I was right about that. The formula is great and the polish is almost self-applying. I used two coats for full opacity, and the drying time between the coats is good. Penny Dreadful needs a layer of topcoat to shine to the max, so I applied that too. And joy! The sun was shining!!

Here’s two coats plus a layer of topcoat in the sun:

Look at how those holo microglitters sparkle! Amazing!

I actually think this looks pretty good on me. Score!

So I thought to myself: I’m already outside my comfort zone, why not push is a bit further? I just received a golden striper polish in the mail, and gold and copper go pretty well together, don’t they?

Mmm. I like it much more than I thought I would.

Verdict:
It’s not a secret that I’m a big fan of Smitten’s microglitter polishes. This colour is not quite me, but it’s a great polish nonetheless. The formula is great, drying time good and those microglitters sparkle like crazy. Yes – I like it a lot!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Fast
Finish: jelly with micro glitter
Overall impression: I love Smitten’s microglitter polishes, they have never ever let me down. Great quality all the way!
Buy again: Yes

  2. Uhm... I am not a fan of copper either. I'd have to wear it on me to tell you if I like it...
