China Glaze ~ Sci-Fi By & Shimmer ~ Sarah

China Glaze ~ Sci-Fi By
Light blue holographic

Shimmer ~ Sarah
Blue, green, purple and silver glitter

I had decided to give Sci-Fi blue from China Glaze’s Hologlam collection a miss, because I’m not that into light blue colours. But - destiny decided that I needed it in my collection, because I received it in a swap instead. Fait accompli! :D

I used my aqua basecoat as underwear for this holo, because this entire collection of holos seems to prefer that. The formula is good, and the coverage is really good. If you apply a thick layer, you might easily be able to get away with just one coat. The drying time is also very good, so I actually prefer to make two thinner layers instead.

And behold the miracle – I really like this! It’s much prettier on the nails than it appears in the bottle! Take a look – two coats, no top coat:

That’s actually one of the nicer Hologlams I’ve seen!

Like its sisters, it doesn’t have the strongest holo effect, but in the sunshine it’s just yummy, in my opinion!

Daylight, not direct sunlight:

See what I mean. It’s cool!

I went for a tape mani. I taped my nails diagonally across and painted the visible nail with a new Shimmer polish I bought: Sarah; which is a mainly blue and green glitter. I had to wait until it was semidry and then run over it again with the glitter, since it wasn’t dense enough for my likings after the first layer. When the second layer was on, I removed the tape, and waited patiently for it to dry. Here’s what it looks like:

There’s no topcoat involved just yet, because I also had dotting in mind.

I made three dots on each nail, still with Shimmer’s Sarah. And then I sealed it all up with Poshé topcoat:

I have to admit that I liked it better without the dots, but never mind. Sometimes it’s hard to know when to stop, know what I mean? LOL!

This is my first Shimmer polish, and I like it! What about you?
