PrettyPots ~ Monster Grimace

PrettyPots ~ Monster Grimace
Lavendar jelly with white, green, pink and black hexes

Today I’m going to show you a rare sight on this blog: A pastel! Monster Grimace is lavender and it’s a jelly, so it’s totally out of my comfort zone. Allow me to show it to you anyway.

The formula is a bit on the thin side so it did take three coats to nuke that visible nail line. Drying time between the coats is pretty average. I didn’t arrange the glitters at all, they just spread out au natural, the way you see them on the pics. I applied a layer of topcoat before I took my pictures.

Here’s three coats plus a layer of topcoat – the pictures are all taken in the shunshine:

I must admit that this looks better on me than I expected.

The glitters kind of float around in the jelly.

One last picture:

The mix of colours really works in my opinion. I did think that I was going to need 4-5 coats to make it opaque, but three did the trick. It’s just not my kind of polish though, so I’ll look for a better home for it, so it doesn’t sit neglected and unloved in a Helmer.

Number of coats: 3
Drying time: Average
Finish: Jelly with hexes
Overall impression:
Buy again: No

    1. Do you really think so? I must admit that I like it more now when I look at the pictures than I did when I actually wore it :)
