A2Z Challenge: D is for Dark

It’s Thursday and you know what that means: It’s time for an alphabet mani, and this week the theme is Dark. I had huge problems with this week’s challenge – I had no ideas at all. I thought of all sorts of darkness but couldn’t really imagine how to transfer any of them onto my little canvasses.

But anyway – here’s the mani I ended up with: 

“What’s that?” I hear you ask. That, my sweet friends, is a solar eclipse!

I might as well be honest with you and admit that I didn’t come up with that idea. My boyfriend did! Isn’t he just imaginative?! He even liked the end result a lot, even though it doesn’t exactly look like the picture.

I actually quite like it too!

I ended up messing it up though. I tried to holofy it, and instead of using my trusted Ellagee Rainbow Syrup, I went for Smokey Mountain Lacquer’s holo topcoat. Smokey Mountain’s holo topper greys the base colour more than the Ellagee does, so I think I might as well get rid of it. It’s not a bad topper, the other one is just better! Anyway – here’s what my mani looks like holofied:

The ironic thing about all my trouble is that I actually ended up doing two manis. I’ll post the other one later today! :D
