Smokey Mountain Lacquers ~ Dreamscape
Charcoal grey with a purple hue holographic
I was lucky to receive six Smokey Mountain Lacquers in a swap recently. I got to wish which ones I really wanted, and Dreamscape was one of them. Dreamscape is described as a deep purple linear holo, but either there’s something wrong with my bottle or I’m colour blind (err, I’m actually not) or someone let their ego get in the way when they swatched. My bottle is definitely grey with a purple hue to it. I’ll get back to that.
The formula is pretty good and the polish builds up in two coats. The drying time between the coats is good, no worries to report.
My pictures are colour accurate, this *is* what the polish looks like in real life.
Two coats, dear ladies, and no topcoat. The picture is taken with flash:
Do you see deep purple? I know I don’t!
And it gets even worse if I turn the flash off and take the picture in my lightbox. Is this grey or deep purple in your opinion?
I made some random black and white lines on my nails; first white lines and then black. I topped the whole thing with Essence’s Gel Look topcoat, and here’s my final mani taken with flash:
And here’s the same thing in the lightbox:
I’m glad I got to chose more than one polish, because this was such a disappointment colour wise – although that’s not the polish’s fault. I’ll show you the other ones I got over the next couple of days, and trust me, there are some really pretty ones too!
So – does this look deep purple to you?
