Darling Diva ~ Take Down
The God Damn Freda Sign! (AKA Amber)
bright blue linear holo
with micro glitter
Take Down the God Damn Freda Sign! is from the Pageant Collection. The
polish is also known as Amber – you pick which name you want on your bottle when
you buy it.
I wasn’t familiar with the quote, so I had to google it. Apparently it’s
from the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous from 1999. It’s Mount Rose Mayor, who says
the following about the town sign, which says "Home of Freda Hegstrom, Minnesota's
Oldest Living Lutheran": “Oh, yeah, sure, Freda, sure. She was the oldest
living Lutheran, now she's dead as a doornail. It's the damn Shriners who won't
take down the Goddamn sign, the lazy sons of bitches. Every year, every damn
year, I tell 'em, "Take down the Goddamn Freda sign, you lazy sons of
bitches!".
Them crazy, lazy ol’ Shriners, huh? One day I might care enough to find
out what a Shriner is ;)
Anyway – back to the polish! The formula is great – it is a Darling Diva
after all! ;) I takes two coats to build up to full opacity and the drying time
between the coats is fine.
Here’s a picture of two coats and no topcoat taken in the sun:
I love the way the rainbow shines!
I made three simple stripes on each nail. I used a purple glitter
striper from Amuse. It’s called purple spark, and I modified it before I used
it: The base colour was too transparent so I added a couple of dollops of
purple, plus I trimmed the brush down to one third the original size.
Here’s my final mani in the sun (pre-topcoat):
And here’s a low light picture. The blue is still really pretty.
Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Drying time: Good
Finish: Holo with glitter –
I love that
Overall impression: Great
blue, nice holo, nice glitter, great polish!
Buy again: Yes
Wow beautiful holo but a bugger of a name to type! I love yr modified purple stripes. A very pretty mani.
