Multicolour shifting linear holo

There is no way I can describe what colour #SisterRoma is. Teal, soft blue, grey, purple, that’s just some of the colours I saw when I wore this.

The formula is good and easy to work with. The first coat looked really sheer, which is unusual for NailNation 3000-polishes, but the second coat covered everything up and left no visible nail line. The drying time is good, no worries.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat, taken with flash:

If I angle my hand a bit, you’ll se other colours as well.

Here’s a low light shot. The picture is colour accurate, it looks exactly like what I was looking at in real life.

I just don’t have any polishes like this one.

It’s flakie time! Flakies have become popular again! I haven’t really used the ones I bought last time they were popular, so I have decided not to buy more unless they’re really special. I made an exception with Twinkle Twinkle though, it’s sooo pretty. It’s green to blue shifting flakies, which I thought would look good over #SisterRoma. It didn’t really though, the colours were too close to each other.

But anyway, here’s one coat of Twinkle Twinkle over #SisterRoma:

I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of NailNation 3000’s polishes. They’re beautiful and most of them are right up my alley.

Today I’m going to show you a fabulous polish from Emily de Molly. It’s purple, holographic and topped with microglitter and flecks.

The formula is good and nice ’n easy to work with. I used two fast drying coats to achieve full opacity. The polish dries up a tiny bit bumpy so a good topcoat is recommended.

Here is two coats and no topcoat yet:

I told you it was gorgeous! :D

It’s just as pretty in low lights. I mean: Look at them flecks!!

I made stripes on two nails and leopard spots on three. I used my to go silver holo from Urban Outfitters, it’s called Silver Holo. I outlined the leopard spots with a plain black striper. Some day I am going to nail those leopard spots!

Today I’m going to show you two polishes. No fancy nail art or anything, just two polishes on top of each other. Sometimes I like it like that.

The first one is a mystery Pahlish. It’s dark teal with copper shimmer and there is also a dash of holo shimmer in it.

The formula is good and it’s very opaque. I wouldn’t be surprised if this worked for stamping too. I used two coats to make it look the best and the drying time between the coats is good.

Here’s what it looks like on it’s own:

Here you can see the little shimmers. There aren’t many but they’re really cute.

On top of that I applied a layer of Picture Polish’s Holiday. It’s a topper with holo glitter and flakies. I’ve seen pictures of the bottle and thought it was nothing special. Once it’s on it’s magic though. Easily applied, averagely drying.

And look! Look how gorgeous it is:

Verdict:
I like the Pahlish and I’m really curious to see if it works for stamping. If it does it’s a total score. As for the Picture Polish: Wow. Now that’s a magic topper that I love! <3

Today it’s time for a purple with holo shimmer: Amethyst from El Corazón’s Gemstones collection. The formula is great and the polish covered in two coats. When I look at my pictures, I wish I had used three coats, but I honestly couldn’t see that in real life!

The holo shimmer refuses to not shine!

My flash pictures weren’t fantastic to be honest, but here’s a blurry one that gives you the idea about the holo it contains:

I made dots on it diagonally on each nail. I used “White” from NailNation 3000 and the green is #10 from Coolcos. I applied a layer of Ellagee’s Rainbow Syrup to add some extra holo goodness.

I think it was way prettier in real life than my pictures suggest. I promise I do better next time ;)

NailNation 3000 is a really cool brand, I’m a big fan! When I opened the package that had Board Walk Empire inside, I almost jumped when I saw how pretty is was! Wow. Hold on for a second, I’ll show you.

The formula is great, I have no issues to report at all. I used two coats that dried really fast.

Girls n guys, grab your sunglasses, ‘cause here is two coats of Board Walk Empire:

Are those rainbows amazing or what? I’d say they are!

And the polish also glows in low light. I’m mesmerized.

I decided to stamp on it. I chose a pattern on my XL stamping plate “B” and I stamped with Lumin-Icent from Color Club’s Foiled collection from Autumn 2011. There are six polishes in that collection and they all stamp really well. I sealed my mani up with topcoat and was good to go.

Board Walk Empire is a total winner. I love everything about it!

It can’t come as a surprise that I love glitter. So when I saw these two glitters for sale in a blog sale, I snatched them right away. I’m going to show you both of them today.

Let me start with Show it and Glow it! It’s packed with purple and silver glitter. There’s also other colours in it; I saw both gold and green. There aren’t a lot of the other colours though, just enough to make it interesting.

I got my bottle really cheap because the polish had thickened up quite a lot and I had to thin it a lot before I could actually use it. Once it had reached “normal” consistency it was really nice to work with. The brush is loaded with glitter when you pull it up, and that makes the brush spread out a little bit, which made it a challenge to get close to the cuticles. Challenge accepted! :D

Anyway: Two coats, fast drying time, one thick layer of topcoat, and I was good to go:

I love glitters like this!

One last picture just because I can.

The other polish is Simmer and Shimmer. It’s the blue/silver version of Show it and Glow it. It also reminds me of Absolutely Alice, just not quite as pretty :)

Two coats as well, fast drying time, a layer of topcoat. I am holding the bottle backwards on this first picture. It’s so you can see the splatter on it. I accidentally dropped it onto the carpet while it was still open, leaving blue and silver glitter on the carpet, the blanket, my slippers and me. Oh yeah, and on the bottle itself.

Pretty, yes?

I am glad I managed to get these two pretties.

The Burlesque collection is discontinued a long time ago, and these polishes are getting harder and harder to find. So if you like glitters as much as I do, you might want to try and find these relatively soon. It’s not getting easier and easier to find them.

A2Z Challenge: T is for Texture

Texture! I love the look of texture, I think it looks really awesome! But when push comes to shove I usually topcoat my textured manicures – mostly because I like the shine.

I picked three different textured polishes for this mani, all three of them from Julie G: Rock Candy, which is green, Crushed Candy, which is pink and Blueberry Fizz, which is, yeah well, blue :D I also used a glitter topper from OPI called Snowflakes in the Air to tie it all together. Here’s my very textured mani:

I painted the entire nail with the green, and when that was dry I sponged on the pink and the blue. And when that was all dry I used a dotting tool to make the glittery line between the three colours.

I really like how this came together!

Blue to purple duochrome with holo

Today I’m going to show you a prototype from Glittering Elements: Magical – or what ended up as Magical. I’ve read that this prototype should be more purple than the official Magical. I haven’t got Magical though, so I can’t compare the two. I can show you the prototype, which is exactly what I’m going to do in a moment :D

The formula is good and the polish covers in two easy coats. The drying time is good, I’ve got no issues to report.

Here’s what two coats and no topcoat look like. The picture is taken with flash:

The sun! OMG the sun was out! It was early morning so it’s a bit orange, but look how pretty it made my mani look!

Here’s a colour accurate low light picture. The shimmer is so pretty.

I dabbed some glitter onto it: A no name one from Cosmetic Arts. Then I dotted flowers onto it, I used a white from Savina called French White, and a pink Glittering Elements: Holly Jolly Christmas.

I quite like this, especially with the glittah!

Overall impression: Pretty purple. I wish the colour shift was more prominent, or alternatively that the holo effect was stronger.

Dark amethyst purple holo with a violet flash and blue flakies

At the Top of my List is also from the Christmas collection from 2014. It’s a gorgeous purple with scattered holo effect and flakies, yay!

The formula is great, I have no issues to report. It covers perfectly in two coats and the drying time is good.

Isn’t that just gorgeous?

Here’s a low light picture. In this lighting the flakies reveal themselves.

I made stripes on them: Black, holo silver and holo glitter alternately. I used “Silver Holo” from Hurban Houtfitters, “Montenegro” which is a plain black crème from Herôme and a silver glitter striper from L. A. Colors called “Ice Breaker”.
