Glittering Elements ~ CE401

Glittering Elements ~ CE401
Purple with weak linear holo effect

When I looked into the box of untrieds I saw this polish from Glittering Elements. It’s CE401 and it’s a prototype I bought a while ago. I’m a sucker for prototypes, and this was even in a mystery bags, and that’s a concept I really like too.

The formula is really good and the polish covers in one single coat. I applied two coats on my pinkie and my pointer, but only one coat on the ring finger and the middle finger.

Then I moved on to my ongoing water marble journey. I used CE401 and a white from Savina called Fantasy Files. Both polishes spread out really nicely on the water. I used liquid latex around my cuticles, and ordinary scotch tape to cover up the rest of the skin.

It smudged a bit on one nail when I dipped my fingers in, but I am satisfied nonetheless.

There’s also a layer of topcoat involved, also on the two nails with a “pearl” on them.

Yes, I like that. I also like the fact that this polish also can be used for water marbling.

What I learned today:
  • White doesn’t have to be the base colour. I used the purple as my base colour and that worked perfectly
  • When you dip two fingers into the water in one go, make sure you dip them at exactly the same time, otherwise one of them might smudge. That’s what happened to me here
  •  Keep on practicing!

Number of coats: 2, but one would have been enough
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Weak linear holo
Overall impression: Pleasant colour, good quality polish. I wouldn’t have mind if the holo effect had been stronger
Buy again: Yes
