Isadora ~ Marzipan
Mint green crème used in a
water marble mani
“Mint green?”, I hear you say out loud. “Mint green isn’t her colour at
all!”
And you’re right, it isn’t my colour. I hardly ever wear pastels, but
this particular polish has been catching my eye for a while. Every time I saw
it in the nail polish rack in the stores I found myself looking at it. I put it
back every time though, because it’s a pastel dagnabbit!
Check out for yourself:
In the end I had to give in and just buy the damn polish, and today’s
the day I’m going to actually wear it. I am aware that I’m not going to like it
on me on its own, so I went for a water marble. Yes, I’m still practicing that
technique :D
I started with one coat of Marzipan on all the nails, and it covers well,
so one more coat would have done the trick. Instead I made a gradient on my
pointer and my pinkie with another Isadora: Crown Jewel, which is a lovely
shimmer purple. That’s the same polish I used for the water marble on the other
two nails.
Take a look at my final mani:
There’s a layer of iridescent glitter over the whole thing, it’s
Jordana’s “Lunar Lights”.
Here’s a picture taken in different lightning so you can see the
iridescent glitters better.
And here are the pretty polishes:
What I learned about water marbling today:
- Do test if the polishes spread in the water before you decide which polish you’re going to use as your base colour
- If you’re dunking more than one finger into the water at a time, make sure you dunk them at the exact same time!
- Practice, practice, practice!
Lovely marble and gradient - I see you're practising marble - I did it last week but I'm not satisfied, I kind of ruined it when I was cleaning the water - pressed the cotton bud to the polish on nails still in water by accident :P
ReplyDeleteI am practicing as often as time permits it, I think it's great that it finally works. I have had trouble with the nails still in the water too, when I move the cotton bud around on the water to remove polish from the surface :D
DeleteI like mintgreen and Marzipan is a very nice version of the color. Love the marble!
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled to hear that, thanks :)
DeleteHahaha, polishes can be insisting like that :D
ReplyDeleteAlltho I would have loved to see a mani where I could see more of it, I really like the result here :)
Marzipan is extremely insisting, hahaha! :D
DeleteIt's not really my colour though so I think this is how much I can get onto my nails and still actually like it :)
I love pastels and if it is green even better! I like how your water marble came out!
ReplyDeleteI am not a lover of pastels myself, at least not on me :) Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it :)
DeleteIt's a beautiful marbling, love the result.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it pleases me to hear that :)
DeleteI like this mani! And this Isadoras looks perfect together :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, that's so good to hear :)
DeleteReally nice marble :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteWell aren't your watermarbles getting clever! I quite like the green when its combined with purple. And the glitters tie it all together.
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad to hear that, thank you. I aim to get better and better at the marbling, and I'm slowly but surely picking up little lessons every time :)
DeleteIt's an unusual color and I like it!
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling you would :)
DeleteI have Marzipan (and LOVE it)!
ReplyDeleteI think the manicure ended up so pretty! Love the marble!
