Anonymous Lacquer ~ No Shit, Sherlock!

Anonymous Lacquer ~ No Shit, Sherlock!
Peachy orange linear holo

I am a great lover of music and movies. There are a couple of movies I keep re-watching and one of them is “Little Shop of Horrors” from 1986. It’s such a great and fun movie and it puts me in a really good mood to watch it.

I decided long time ago that I wanted a nail polish collection based on the movie. I teamed up with Mildred, the maker of Anonymous Lacquer and created a great collection of six polishes. No Shit, Sherlock! is the first I’m going to show you.

I send her this picture for inspiration, and this is how I imagined the polish to end up like: “Orange strong linear holo (representing Audrey II’s lips.) It has to be a clear, non-Autumn-y orange.”

(Not my picture. All rights reserved Warner Bros.)

I know that orange polishes are a challenge for me. I have grown to love orange but I can’t wear them if they are Autumn-y. Challenge or not, I wanted an orange in the collection and Mildred did great.

The formula is a dream and the coverage is really good. I think I could have got away with one coat. I used two though and the drying time was good.

Let me introduce No Shit, Sherlock! to you. This is two coats and no topcoat photographed with flash:

I obviously love the rainbows!

This is taken in low lights. There are still rainbows and that’s fantastic.

I stamped on it. The motif is from the plate BP-L013 and I used “Red” from El Corazón’s stamping line.

This is the final mani, including a layer of topcoat:

One last shot just because I can.

I’ll be honest with you: Had I seen this polish in a shop I wouldn’t have bought it. But I must admit that it totally won me over once it was on my nails. I love this polish and I can’t wait to wear the other five in the Little Shop of Horrors-collection.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Great polish, I really like the colour and the rainbows are fantastic
Buy again: Yes I would!

  5. I like the story behind it - but I would have loved it less coral and more bright orange...
