Cuccio ~ Iron Clad

Cuccio ~ Iron Clad
Deep dusty matte purple with shimmer

There are polishes that get to sit in my box of untried for a very long time for no other reason than there are so many in there to choose from. This Cuccio has been sitting there for… I don’t know how long, but a long time. Today is the day where it gets to show itself in all its glory!

When I bought it I didn’t know it was a matte. And it’s a matte that dries super fast. You can literally sit and watch paint dry as you apply it! This polish is practically opaque in one single coat, but I applied two anyway, and it made a difference. The colour got a bit deeper and more beautiful too in my opinion. A tip is to apply this with as few strokes with the brush as possible – that way it applies nicely and evenly.

Here’s what two coats look like:

I love that a matte can have shimmer in it. I don’t think I would like it as much without the shimmer.

Anyway – first I stamped on it. I used a Moyou London stamping plate called “Pro Collection-02” and I stamped with Essie’s “Penny Talk”. Here’s that step:

That’s quite pretty, isn’t it? I haven’t applied my topcoat yet, because I’m not quite done.

Now it’s time for another untried: Ninja Polish “Pinkerbell”. That’s a clear base packed with blue, green and pink matte glitters. I sponged a bit of Pinkerbell by the base of my nails and then I applied a layer of topcoat.

Here’s the final result:

And a final shot:

I have to say that I quite like this combination. The base colour matches the stamping colour and the glitter colour really well. Not a bad pick of untrieds if you ask me, haha! But enough about me – what do you think of this? Please let me know in the comments below.

  1. I think the polish looks really nice and the end result is really cool:)
I would have probably given it a shiny top coat, but that's just because I love sparkles :P

    1. I actually did that in the end - but not before after having added both stamp and glitter :) I love sparkles too! :)

  5. I have a quite similar polish like the Cuccio and I love it.
Wonderful final result with the satamping and glitter, but as Maria mentioned it above I like it to much the base polish, so for me it would be enough just with the stamping :)

    1. I must admit that the glitter was a test - I wasn't sure if it was going to work or not :)
