El Corazón Confetti ~ 505a

El Corazón Confetti ~ 505a
Magenta microglitter in a darkened jelly base

Here’s another one of my Russian beauties, this time from the Confetti collection.

The formula is a little bit thin, but surprisingly enough it’s still really easy to work with and the coverage is really good. It was almost opaque after one coat, but I applied two coats in order to enhance the depth. The polish dries up a little bit dull and gritty so it does require a layer of topcoat to make the glitter shine.

Here’s two coats plus one layer of topcoat:

The polish is topcoat hungry, which means that it soaks up the topcoat. So 10 minutes after I applied my topcoat, it required a second layer to stay glossy and smooth.

Look how shiny and pretty it is:

The glitter of the polish sinks really fast in the bottle, so after a short while on its own, the polish looks like this:

Fortunately it’s really easy to mix the glitter with the base again. A quick shake, rattle and roll and it’s all good again!

I almost forgot to mention that this polish smells really odd. I don’t mind so much, but if you’re really sensitive to weird smells you might want to avoid this one.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Average
Durability: Good
Finish: Darkened magenta jelly base with microglitter
Overall impression: Mmm, lovely glitter!
Buy again: Yes

  3. Ooh that's a really pretty color! I don't know about the smell though. I'm pretty sensitive and can easily get smell headches, so I probably couldn't take it.

    1. If you're sensitive about smells, then you have to give this one a miss, because it does smell. I don't mind so much, which is my luck I guess :)

  4. This is pretty! too bad about the smell... I'll probably pass on it... it also bugs me when I have to mix a nail polish before using it... usually mine don't need to be mixed unless they have been sitting for a long time

    1. The smell is bearable but odd indeed. I give all my polishes a good shake before I use them so this wasn't a big deal for me :)
