OPI ~ AmazON – AmazOFF
Teal crème/shimmer
AmazON – AmazOFF is from the Brazil collection from spring 2014.
I’ve written that it’s a crème/shimmer in the description above, and it’s not because
I can’t make up my mind…I’ve seen many bloggers write that it’s a shimmer and
it’s true, it has got the finest shimmer in it. But in reality it’s so very fine
that it’s almost invisible to the human eye – and even to my camera, which is
known to see everything! Thus: To me it’s a crème with only a theoretical
shimmer.
Anyway, the formula is not great and it’s not easy to apply. It’s also difficult
to apply evenly. On the plus side: It’s a two coater. Drying time between the
coats is average.
Here’s two coats, no topcoat:
It’s a really shiny polish, that’s a huge plus!
I decided to pair it with a neon green multisized glitter from Claire’s:
“Funky”. You know the drill: One dip in the bottle per nail. I dapped the hexes
around a bit to place them, but the rest of the glitter just spread out easily.
Here’s what the two look like together:
I think this looks rather cool, to be honest!
There’s something I need to mention about this glitter from Claire’s. I
bought it along with 7 of its sisters, and of them all, 6 of the brushes had badly
uneven and bent-out bristles, needing to be fixed. Not a huge deal – but I’ll
remember to check the brushes before I leave the shop with polishes from
Claire’s again. It’s somewhat annoying to get home and find a hedgehog in each
bottle, I can assure you.
Pairing a slightly dusty teal with a neon green was a great idea – in
all modesty of course. I love the end result. Do you?
Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Average

Finish: Crème (slight
shimmer)
Overall impression: I like the colour, it’s a great base. I’m not crazy about the quality though, but that’s just me and OPI.

Buy again: actually, No
Hahaha, that name of course makes me think of Karate Kid.
ReplyDeleteIt's too teal for me, but with that bright lime green glitter it is very beautiful!
Fantastic - I also thought of Karate Kid!! :D
DeleteThe green glitter made a huge difference imo! :)
Did it stain your nails? I remember I used a base coat of a bad quality and some of my nails were stained. I have it and I like the colour a lot but I'm afraid to use it again...
ReplyDeleteIt didn't stain my nails, no. But I only wore it for half a day, and it does take a lot for a polish to stain my nails in general.
DeletePerhaps two layers of basecoat will solve the problem?
If I remember it right, I put one coat of Essence's base coat then and it isn't my best base coat. And I put a top coat too, glittery one.
DeleteI love the funky version with the green glitter on! In my opinion is a subtle shimmer, or secret shimmer, because under the sunlight the shimmer is visible to the naked eye!
ReplyDeleteIs it really visible? Because I couldn't see it at all, which is a shame, because I really love shimmer :)
DeleteThis is a perfect layering in my opinion, it is a stunner separately but together too!
ReplyDeleteYou are really sweet, thank you! :)
DeleteNice OPI! It's pretty shame about the formula!
ReplyDeleteThe Claire's neon goes well with it! I've bought a few from Claire's - I might just check the brushes :-|
You might as well! The good thing is that I have been able to fix them all :)
DeleteHaha, 'theoretical shimmer', love that!! =) I really like this combo!!! sucks about the brushes =(
ReplyDeleteFortunately the brushes were all fixable :)
DeleteI don't remember seeing the "theoretical shimmer" in any other swatches I've seen either. I guess it just helps give the polish that shine it has? :) I love the color combination here! I should really stop by claire's I want this glitter! so bright and fun! I haven't personally had that problem with any claire's polish brushes but i'll be sure to double check next time in case!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to make sure that you come home with polishes where the brushes are neat and straight :)
DeleteAwesome glitter! ^_^ Love this combo!
ReplyDeleteI really like this glitter too, it's fun! :)
