OPI ~ The one that got away

OPI ~ The one that got away
Fuchsia with glass flecks

The One that Got Away is from the Katy Perry collection from January 2011. It looks beautiful in the bottle, I really love fuchsia polishes like this one. Fyoo-shya. Must remember not to pronounce it as it looks like it should sound in front of the mother-in-law, right? ;)

Oh, one thing before we start: I have a love/hate relationship with OPI. I love some of the polishes they come up with, but more often I hate their formulas and/or the drying time. It’s not a rule, but it happens often.

Also: I’m not sure if I got a bad bottle this time. The formula was horrible. First of all the polish separated like crazy; all the glass flecks kept sinking to the bottom, even shortly after I gave it a vigorously shake. Second of all: This polish is thin. I applied four layers of polish before I was happy with the result. Fortunately the drying time isn’t too bad, but still: FOUR coats!

It’s beautiful though, really beautiful. Take a look – here’s four coats.

I love colours and finishes like this one has. Wow!

I applied glitter to it! There’s a glitter from Golden Rose’s Jolly Jewels collection that matches this polish perfectly: #108. It’s packed with glitter; you know the drill, one dip in the bottle per nail:

I dig this!

Number of coats: 4
Drying time: Good
Finish: Glass fleck
Overall impression: Beautiful polish, awful formula, bad coverage!
Buy again: No way!

  1. It looks great but 4 coats and OPI... I have Last Friday Night from Katy Perry collection - it's sheer too.

    1. I am not a fan of sheer polishes. I don't have enough patience for four coats, pretty or not :D

    1. It's at least one coat too many, and I really prefer two coaters :)

To be honest I was surprised that this collection is so old already, I thought it was from 2013 or so :). Time flies so fast :)

It has already found another home, because I realized that I would never wear it again :/
