Loki Nail Vinyls – Nail aprons and Skyline

Loki Nail Vinyls – Nail aprons and Skyline

Today I’m going to show you the last Loki Nail Vinyls that I got.

Let me start out with the nail aprons. They’re an alternative to liquid latex that are sold under various names: They protect your cuticles while you do nail art, so your clean up will be easier.

They come in two sizes and they look like this:

I’m not that good at clean up myself. It’s as if the polish won’t come off the cuticles once it’s on there. So let’s try this out. Here’s what the instructions say:

My nails are small, so I’m using the smaller apron for all of my nails. I started with the pinkie, and here’s what my gradient looked like at some point during the process:

Sorry for the slightly blurred picture. My camera’s settings had magically changed into something weird and I only noticed it after taking these first pictures. But anyway, you can at least see what I mean.
Here’s what the pinkie looked like right after I removed the apron:

Hm. I must admit that I’m not super impressed. The aprons protect most of the area around the cuticles, but not the cuticles themselves.

Anyway, I did the rest of my nails and moved on to the next stickers: The skyline. The instruction says that the vinyls can be used as stickers, so that is exactly what I did. But first, let me show you the stickers.

The picture also illustrates what I did. I cut one long sticker into four pieces and applied them onto my nails.

This is what that looked like:

I love this!

I’m really impressed by the skyline stickers, I love the way they look on my nails.

Just for the record: The polishes I used for the blue gradient is China Glaze’s December to Remember and Frostbite. The “stars” is Out the Door’s Northern Lights topcoat. And the final mani is topped with a thick layer of topcoat.
Voilá!

Verdict:
The aprons protect the skin around your nails for a lot of cleanup. They’re easy to use and they can be reused up to ten times, according to the instructions. They were easy to adjust around the nails because they come in a set of two that you put together, and they’re obviously good for people with latex allergies. They don’t protect the cuticles quite enough for me though; I still had some difficult cleanup to do when the gradient was done.

The skyline vinyls on the other hand, those I love totally. I’ve been wanting to do a skyline mani for ages, but my lack of freehand skills has held me back. Now I can do them really nicely. These vinyls get the thumbs up from me.

    1. I'm not entirely convinced either, but bear in mind that my nails are small - they might be better on bigger nails than mine :)
