Pinpai ~ #03
Super pale
lavender linear holo
I bought three holographic polishes from evilbay
recently. Only one of them looked like the picture in the seller’s shop. #03
was advertised with a picture of a lovely purple linear holographic. The polish
that showed up was very pale and could hardly be recognized as purple.
So I decided to layer it over a lovely purple from
China Glaze: “Summer Reign”. I applied two layers of the purple and then a
layer of the holographic over that. I used two layers of the Pinpai alone on my
ring finger to show the true colour of the polish.
I made some dots by the base of each nail with “Summer
Reign” and topped it all with topcoat.
Here’s what it all looks like photographed with flash.
And here’s what it looks like in the morning sun. It’s
a lovely holographic effect for sure.
This is what it looks like in my lightbox.
Two notes:
1. Can the colour on my ring finger be categorized as purple?

2. The extra dot on my middle finger happened because
my boyfriend made me jump by shutting the lid on the laundry basket with a loud
sound :D
Here are the two polishes side by side.
I always get slightly irritated when the things I buy
don’t match the advertised picture. I ended up writing to the seller and
getting my money back for this polish. He didn’t want me to return it – that’s
too expensive, I guess.
