Barry M: Modern Mauve
Mauve matte
"Modern Mauve" is from Barry M's Velvet collection.
The formula is on the thick side but it's super easy to work with, also for a
matte polish. The coverage is really good and I could have got away with one
single coat if I wanted to. I used two out of habit though. The drying time is
good.
I stamped over it with yellow. The motif is from the stamping plate "BP
L093". I stamped with El Corazón's stamping polish "Yellow". I
topped it all with Orly's holo glitter topper "Shine On Crazy
Diamond".
Here's is the final result, including a layer of topcoat.

I think yellow is a great colour on top of the mauve.

This is "Modern Mauve" alone; two coats and no topcoat yet.

Here are the things I used today.
I really like the formula of "Modern Mauve". I'm not 100% sure about
the colour though, since it leans a bit too brown for my likings. It's as if
the stamping made the brown in the polish come out more as well.
Number of coats: 2, but
it is a one coater
Drying time: Good
Finish: Matte
Overall impression: Good formula and drying time. Dries up really smooth. Not
too crazy about the colour.
Buy again: No, but only because of the colour
When I see this nail polish, I realize that I simply adore velvet finish! :-) This is a nice shade and the final manicure is simply perfect! :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally love the finish as well, but not the colour. I will definitely buy them if they come up with other colours.
