Cuccio ~ Illumination
Sheer purple base packed with blue glitter
This is by far the weirdest glitter I own. Cuccio themselves describes
Illumination as holographic but it’s not. It looks duochromatic in the bottle
but I think it’s an optical illusion because the base colour and the glitter
have different colours. Not a holographic, at any rate.
Anyway – it’s not an easy polish to apply. I dapped the glitter on and
for a moment I thought it would take 6-7 coats to make it cover. It didn’t
though. It only took two careful coats and the drying time is pretty average. I
applied a layer of topcoat before I took my photos.
Here’s two coats plus a layer of topcoat:
This picture shows you the illusion of duochromatic effect.
Isn’t that just a weird glitter? :D
I stamped on it. I found some skull designs on Moyou London’s stamping
plate Biker Collection-05 and I stamped with a no name black stamping polish.
Here’s my final mani:
And one last picture:
The designs are not from an XL-plate and the designs are still so big
that they only just fit onto my relatively small nails. I love the designs though;
I would just use the plate more often if the designs were smaller!
Maybe weird yet pretty. I like it a lot and with the stamping it looks even more grunge-y!
ReplyDeleteI think the weirdness called for black, and I think the stamp did a lot for this mani :)
DeleteI like the pink shift in the blue :)
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling you would :)
DeleteThat's an interesting colour...I'm not sure if I like it though :P
ReplyDeleteI am not convinced myself either :D
DeleteSuch an interesting looking glitter!
ReplyDeleteIt is for sure :D
DeleteThis certainly is a bit different - oddly appealing - I like it :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice to hear :)
Deletethis is a really interesting glitter! the base looks a bit duochrome on your nails if you look closely i like it!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, it does look duochrome! I wonder why they mistake that for holo :)
DeleteYou can make stamped images smaller by taking the stamp out of the holder and stretching it slightly when you pick up the image. Let the tension out to apply to nail and it will be smaller. Or reverse to increase an image size.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tip. I have tried that, but I can't seem to get it quite right - I seem to stretch the image out of proportions :)
