OPI ~ Morning, Moneypenny
Burgundy magnetic polish with holo microglitter
This is my first ever magnetic polish. That trend never really caught my
eye, but I found Morning, Moneypenny at half price and then I couldn’t resist!
I love the colour of it, and I thought that if I didn’t like it, I would just
use it as a regular polish.
The formula is pretty good, but I must admit that it looked a bit dull
when I applied it. I applied one coat on all my nails, and when that was dry I
did one nail at a time.
I’m going to show you what my mani ended up looking like, and please
just bear in mind that this is my first time ever! :D
The pattern was more visible right after I did the magnet thing. Little
did I know that topcoat would remove some of the magnetic effect. Why is that,
anyway? That doesn’t really make any sense!
I really like the holo microglitter, it makes this polish more special!
Here’s what it looked like in my lightbox. The pattern reminds me of a
dark red galaxy. I think that is cool!
Here’s one last picture of the mani. I didn’t do anything with it, it
just stayed like that.
The magnet requires a few words too. It’s a piece of plastic you stick
your finger into while the polish is still wet. Then you squeeze the magnet
down and hold it there for 5-6 seconds. Make sure it doesn’t touch the nail.
Then take your finger out, et voilá: the pattern is there!
Here’s what the magnet looks like:

The pattern suggest that it’s a stripey design, but the pattern that
showed up on my nails were more of a ziggy-zaggy or wavy design. Odd.
So, this was my first try with a magnetic. I am not sure I’ll ever be a
huge fan. How about you?
This is very pretty! I was all over magnetics when they came back this last time but can't remember the last time I used one.
ReplyDeleteThe trend never really caught me to be honest, and I don't think I need a lot of magnetic polish either. Perhaps I need just one more magnet, a good one :)
DeleteI love the color, but the magnet looks like it could be more "efficient", the magnets vary a lot ;)
ReplyDeleteDo they? In that case I'll try and track a better one down. Have you got any suggestions perhaps? :)
DeleteI like the sparkles a lot :) I don't use magnets so can't tell you.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sparkles too :)
DeleteIt's a nice colour. I've tried a few magnetic polishes, and you really need to get the knack for holding the magnet! And having a steady hand!
ReplyDeleteI got a few magnets cheap from eBay in China, they work well.
Perhaps I should browse eBay to see if I can find some good ones there then, thanks for the tip :)
DeleteAs an OPI fan I'm a bit mortified that I didn't know this exsists :-O
ReplyDeleteBut it's really pretty and I actually think the outcome of it looks quite good :)
What? You didn't know?? :o
DeleteI even bought it in Magasin, not even online! :D
We don't have any Magasins here where I live and the Matas' don't have any magnetic polishes from OPI :(
DeleteOh :( I've never seen magnetic OPIs in Matas either :/ I guess I was just lucky :)
DeleteI like the holo glitter in this one! I have only 2 magnetics in my stash :)
ReplyDeleteThe holo glitter is the thing that made me buy it :)
