Dare to Wear: Royal Crystal

Walking down Memory Lane with Dare to Wear: Royal Crystal
Purple with golden shimmer

I have decided to do a little series of posts where I dig an oldie out from the Helmer and let it shine on the blog again.

I haven’t worn Dare to Wear for a long time. I wore “Royal Chrystal” four years ago and almost only remembered the brand because they recently came out with a big bunch of holographic polishes.

I used to buy them on Nailsupplies but they raised their postage prices so much so I stopped shopping there some years ago. Now I buy them on eBay. Postage is still expensive but not just as much.

The formula is still good and it still covers in two coats. The drying time is still good as well, no problems there.

Last time I posted about this polish I wrote: “Royal Crystal lacks a bit of edge in my opinion, but add whatever bling you like and it’s cool.” I still agree with that statement and decided to add skulls as my edge. The design is from the stamping plate “Celebration BPX-L007”. I couldn’t quite decide which colour to stamp with so I stamped with two different ones, both from el Corazón: Pink Neon and Bisgue.

This is my final manicure including a layer of topcoat. This is a sunshine picture.

I love these little skulls a lot. I think they are super cute.

This is two coats of “Royal Crystal” on its own; no topcoat yet.
I like the shine a lot.

These are the polishes and the stamping plate I used today.

Which colour stamp do you prefer of the two? I like them both and am indecisive myself.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: The formula is good and I like the shimmer. A non-offensive polish
Buy again: Probably not

  1. Hi sweetheart! You know I love to see oldies! It is pretty the stamping and also the nail polish you used as base alone. A big hug! ♡

  2. Beautiful purple! I think I would go for the lighter shade for stamping ;-)
