Pipe Dream Polish ~ Home Sweet Home & Be My Flamingo

Pipe Dream Polish ~ Home Sweet Home & Be My Flamingo
~ Swatches

I’ve already showed you my two Pipe Dream glitters, so allow me to show you my two Pipe Dream glitter toppers.

First one up is Home Sweet Home, which is medium and small orange and white glitter in a clear base. Orange isn’t my favourite colour, but I like stepping outside my comfort zone once in a while, and I think this looked pretty cool in the bottle.

I applied a single coat over a really cool orange from Douglas called “Ready to Go”, which I got in a swap event last year sometime. I had to dap the glitter around to get it spread out evenly, but it was relatively easy to work with. Drying time isn’t the fastest, but that’s because the dapping ended up making it a fairly thick layer of clear polish. It was nothing that a layer of quick drying topcoat couldn’t fix ;)

Here it is:

The orange glitters got a little bit overwhelmed by the orange base, but I think it looks pretty cool.

I mean: Look at this!

Here are the two polishes, I played with:

Verdict:
Yes, I like this, and I like it a lot over orange. Perhaps I should start wearing orange more often.

Second one up is Be My Flamingo. I fell for both the name and the various colours and sizes of pink glitter!

I paired it up with a dark red shimmer from Anny called “Sunset Love”. One layer of the glitter over the red, and again: I had to dap the glitter onto the nails to get even coverage. Drying time was a bit slow due to the dapping of glitter, which resulted in a fairly thick layer of the clear polish.

Enough talk. Here it is:

One dip in the bottle per nail, it’s my usual rule.

I think it looks really awesome over dark red!

Here are the sisters in crime:

And a bonus picture of both polishes swatched on a nail wheel over black. This was you can see what both polishes are really about.

Verdict:
This glitter is not out of my comfort zone, I really like pink! It’s a good topper and I’ll definitely use it for glitter gradients later on.

I bought these polishes from Edgy Polish

  5. Both glitter looks really great! I'm not a big fan of orange either, but I like the combo you made with it. And the pink looks beautiful :)

    1. Thank you!
I've found myself buying just a few orange polishes lately. Let's see how often I actually get to wear them :)

  6. I love the pink glitter! I usually don't wear orange either. The orange glitter is more visible over black but I feel like it looks a bit too much like Halloween that way. I actually got an orange glitter topper as a gift and can't figure out what to pair it with :/

    1. Try to pair it with a neon pink if you've got one. Or a dark red like here. Or perhaps even a yellow :)
