Ellagee ~ Magic Mirror on the Wall

Ellagee ~ Magic Mirror on the Wall
Deep purple to red violet colourshifter with turquoise shimmer

Magic Mirror on the Wall is inspired by the evil queen's magic mirror in Snow White.

The formula is good and the polish is easy to apply. It was opaque after two coats, but I know my camera well enough to know that she would have picked up the tiniest irregularities, so I applied a third coat to make it look pretty on pictures too. Drying time between the coats is pretty good.

I’ve got one complaint: It’s really difficult to catch this polish on camera. The colourshift is amazing in real life, but every time I pointed my camera at it, it refused to show all its colours. Trust me when I say that this polish is amazing.

Here’s three coats and a layer of topcoat:

Here’s a flash picture to show off the turquoise shimmer. It’s so pretty!

I know this picture isn’t perfect, but it does give an impression of the strong colourshift:

Shimmer and colourshift in the same polish :)

Verdict:
I love polishes that can “do” something. I am also really fond of purple and blues and shimmers….so that’s a big Yes from me.

Number of coats: 3, but 2 should do
Drying time: Pretty good
Finish: Colourshifter with shimmer
Overall impression: Good quality polish, great colourshift and very pretty shimmer
Buy again: Yes

  1. I like the finish and how glossy it looks. I think I get how the colours change - interesting one.
