Stamping plate BP-L 010 from BornPrettyStore

Stamping plate BP-L 010 from BornPrettyStore

This plate is the sort of plate that makes me think of brown/orange manis. I love the patterns though!

This is what it looks like:

I actually managed to take a good picture of a shiny stamping plate! I even impressed myself here, haha!

Anyway, I decided not to go for a brown or orange coloured mani – I’m not crazy about brown you know. So I went for colours that reminds me of Africa: Red, yellow and green (I used turquoise, but mixed with yellow it turned out green).

Take a look at how that all turned out:

The colours are dapped on and then mixed with saran wrap/cling film.

I seriously love that the animals are small enough to also fit onto smaller nails like my own. I’ve got both elephants and giraffes on my nails, how cool is that!!

I used these three Dance Legend polishes:

Dance Legend Fresh: 73, 80 and 76.

The verdict:

Pros:
Cool designs
Etched perfectly
Great that the animals also fit onto smaller nails

Cons:
None

Glittering Elements ~ Be Daring

Glittering Elements ~ Be Daring

A raspberry red jelly base with plum and charcoal laser glitter and a holographic shimmer

Be Daring is from the Aspire to…-collection from Autumn 2015.

The formula is good and the polish applies easily and evenly. I used two coats for my mani and the drying time is good. I took a couple of flash pictures, but they definitely required an extra coat so I won’t post any of those.

I made three dots by the base of each nail with Models Own’s Chrome Blue from the Chrome collection.

Here’s two coats, three dots and a layer of topcoat:

Isn’t that colour just squishy looking?

I’m holding the Models Own polish on this last picture.

Be Daring is a super cool and delicious looking polish. The quality is top notch, so yes, I love everything about this polish!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Jelly with glitter and shimmer
Overall impression: I love the colour and the glitter and everything else about the polish
Buy again: Yes

Glittering Elements ~ Be Anything You Want To Be

Glittering Elements ~ Be Anything You Want To Be
A purple jelly base with pink and plum laser glitters and a decent amount of holographic shimmer

Be Anything You Want To Be is from the Aspire to…-collection from Autumn 2015.

The formula is good and easy to work with, even for a jelly. I used three coats for this mani. If I hadn’t been a nail blogger with a camera that picks up every little flaw and imperfection I would have been able to get away with two coats. The drying time is good.

So dear readers, here’s three coats and a layer of topcoat taken with flash:

This feels like looking into a purple cosmos!

Here’s the low light picture. I see little sparks no matter what time of day it is!

I was in sort of a hurry, so I didn’t add anything to this. Next time I’ll try stamping on it with a silver holo, I think that would look really cool!

Number of coats: 3 for the camera
Drying time: Good
Finish: Jelly with glitter and shimmer
Overall impression: Nice effect in all sorts of lightings
Buy again: No, but only because I thought it was too dark for me :)

Lovely ~ Summer Sand #5

Lovely ~ Summer Sand #5
Light blue texture with darker blue shimmer

Here’s a mani I made to try out a couple of polishes. The blue is #5 from Lovely’s Summer Sand collection. The formula is good and so is the coverage. I used two coats for full opacity and the drying time is okay.

The polish on my ring finger is “Stir in Sugar” from Cuccio. It’s a white jelly topper with iridescent glitter and textured effect. I thought it would be a polish that worked on its own, but after three coats it looked really weird. I topped everything with a layer of topcoat because that tends to make everything better.

The blue shimmer in #5 doesn’t make a big deal out of itself on the nails unfortunately. The textured effect isn’t very prominent, which is a good thing in my opinion :D

I actually tried the Cuccio over a dark colour and it does overwhelm the underlaying colour quite a lot, but I do like the effect of it. I’m not quite sure how to actually use that polish.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Okay
Finish: Texture with shimmer
Overall impression: I wish the shimmer showed itself more. The colour is pleasant though
Buy again: Probably not

Stamping plate BP-61 from BornPrettyStore

Stamping plate BP-61 from BornPrettyStore

Today I’m going to show you a cool stamping plate. It’s full of hearts in various patterns, and this is what it looks like:

I love hearts! I wasn’t quite sure which of the patterns I was going to try out first, so I went for two different ones. But first I painted my nails pink with OPI’s Starry Eyed for Poor Daniel from the Hello Kitty collection; two easy coats of that, and then I stamped my patterns:

The patterns pick up perfectly, I had zero problems with the stamping.

I love all of these designs so this is definitely a plate I’m going to use again. I have actually bought a lot of BornPretty’s stamping plates myself, and I am a big fan. I’ve never had a bad or a faulty one.

The verdict:

Pros:
Great designs
Picks up perfectly

Cons:
It can be hard to pick which stamping plate to pick, haha!
