CrowsToes ~ Cheshire

CrowsToes ~ Cheshire
Purple multisized glitter with a dash of golden glitters

The last couple of CrowsToes polishes I’ve tried have been duochromatic, but today it’s time for a glitter! I think Crowstoes make great glitters. I’ve been hesitant about buying this one because it’s a glitter that requires layering, but hey, I love purple, I love cats and I love Alice in Wonderland. Didn’t I just have to own this polish?? Yes I did, is the answer we’re all looking for J

I decided to layer it over a matte metallic lilac from H&M called “Purple Metal”. I’ll show you what it looks like and tell a bit more about it at the end of this post.

The formula of Cheshire is on the thick side, and I like that. I did push the glitter a bit around on the nail to arrange it, but it wasn’t a big deal, really! I didn’t have to fish for the larger glitters. What you see on my pictures is one dip in the bottle per nail. That’s how I prefer to present my glitters, because then there’s no confusion about what to expect, should anyone think about getting any of the glitters I show off here.

Now I want to you show you what one layer of Cheshire over a lilac looks like. There’s also a layer of Poshé topcoat to seal it all up:

Isn’t that just a nice glitter? I really like it!

On this pic you can see that there’s a lot going on in this glitter. Very large purple hexes, smaller golden hexes, glitters in various purple colours and much, much more.

Let me show you the H&M Matte metallic I layered it over. It’s an easy to apply, well covering matte polish. I’m not sure I agree that it’s metallic, but perhaps my expectations are just too high, haha! Drying time is great, but it dries from outside and in, so don’t let it fool you because it looks dry right away. It still needs a bit of time to dry all the way through.

This is one layer:

If I was going to wear this on its own, I would have applied a second layer. But I knew the glitter would cover it up, so I didn’t bother with the extra layer :)

Cheshire, the beautiful cat of Alice in Wonderland. I think this polish represents it well, but what do you think?

  2. It's a pretty layering, but the largest pieces are too big for my liking - but then again, I'm no glitter girl ;)
