Here is a song I really like: Pink with Aerosmith.
When I created this challenge I knew exactly which polish I was going to use as my base colour. It’s the pinkest colour I own: “The Pink One” by Pretty Serious. It’s shocking pink, loaded with beautiful blue shimmer!
The formula is great, like it has been with all my other Pretty Serious-polishes. It takes two coats to make this look really cool, and the drying time between the coats is average. I did in fact add a layer of Ellagee’s topcoat “Glass” before I took my pictures.
Behold and put on your sunglasses girls – here are two coats of The Pink One and a layer of Glass topcoat:
Isn’t that just amazingly bright and beautiful? I love it!
At that point I decided to make this a tape mani. I taped my nails with masking tape in various patterns and painted the unmasked bits with Julie G Gumdrops “Ho ho ho”, which is a dark pink texture. Here’s that step:
And another shot. This is pretty cool, actually!
I considered keeping it like that because I didn’t want to screw it up by trying to outline the texture. But hey, this is a challenge after all! So I grabbed a black striping polish, and outlined the textured areas. And I’ll tell you what! It went well! Hurra!!
I topped it with another layer of Ellagee Glass topcoat, and here, sweet ladies, is the final result:
One last picture of it:
And the polishes I used:
This came out just as I wanted it to! I’m so glad to have made a cool tape mani that isn’t “just” a piece of tape down the middle – even though that can look pretty cool too. But I want this challenge to push me a little bit, and this one did!
Here's Aerosmith with Pink ♥
Mmmm... like candy for my ears. And speaking of candy: Stay tuned next week to see how I interpret Robbie Williams’ Candy!
