Orly pink and blue watermarble

Orly pink and blue watermarble
It’s up to Blue, Va Va Voom and Shine on Crazy Diamond

There’s one thing I particularly like about watermarbling, and that is that it inspires me to rummage through the Helmers to find polishes for it. That was I get to use some of the polishes I haven’t used for years. I am sure the poor neglected polishes enjoy that fact as much as I do :D

Today I went all in on Orly and here’s my final mani:

The blue is “It’s up to Blue”. I think it was released in the end of 2010 or possibly in the beginning of 2011. I have made a note that says it’s from a collection called Dazzling Shimmer, but I am not actually sure if that’s true or not, since Google isn’t my friend today.
The pink is called “Va Va Voom” and it’s from the Pin Up collection from spring 2011. So yes, I’ve picked some oldies but goodies for this watermarble!

The glitter that seals it all up is “Shine on Crazy Diamond”. I don’t know how old that polish is, but I bought my bottle in a blog sale a while ago. I love this glitter and I’ve used it quite a bit. I like the density in the glitter. It’s not packed, so it’s perfect if you don’t want to overwhelm the polish underneath, but if you just want to add a bit of sparkle to your nails. I think the previous owner has be tampering with the polish, because it smells really odd, and none of my other Orlys smell anything like it. But never mind, it still works, so I’m happy.

Here are the three polishes. You can tell that I really like the glitter, can’t you :D

It’s up to Blue, Va Va Voom and Shine on Crazy Diamond.

Yes, I am happy with today’s result.

The other times I’ve watermarbled, I have dipped two fingers at a time. Today I only dipped one at a time. I like the result a lot.

  5. Oh shine on crazy watermarble. I won't jinx you and tell you youre getting really good but you are. I love watermarbles. They remind me of doing art when I was a kid. You just get all the stuff out and play around and sometimes something really cool happens!

    1. That's a really awesome way to put it! I find myself drawing patterns in the water and hoping that I'll the most awesome pattern in there. :) And thank you!

  6. You know what, I don't have this particular polish, but I have found a lot of polishes that are the "glitter suspended in a clear base" type smell weird! Even if every other polish by the same brand smells normal. Not all of them smell different but I definitely have several that do. Might be a consequence of suspension base, perhaps!

    1. Really? That's really interesting, I have never noticed that.
I'll pay attention to it when I use my glitters in future. Not that I mind weird smell much, I just find it odd :)
